Job Description

FOTATO is building the next-generation hyperlocal food & grocery delivery ecosystem across India’s Tier 1, 2, and 3 cities. With regional brand-building at its core, we are now looking for a Marketing Director to scale our reach, define consumer narratives, and drive acquisition with accountability.

 

Role Summary

As Director – Marketing, you’ll lead all aspects of our marketing function including brand, performance, growth, content, regional campaigns, and partnerships. This is a leadership role requiring equal parts strategic thinking, data-backed decisions, and creative storytelling to make FOTATO a household name across Bharat.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Marketing Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and drive the full-funnel marketing roadmap aligned to GMV and user growth targets.
  • Build a high-performance marketing team across brand, digital, CRM, design, and content.
  • Own regional penetration strategy across Telugu, Bengali, Hindi-speaking cities and states.

2. Brand & Creative

  • Shape and evolve FOTATO’s tone, mascot-led brand identity, and storytelling language.
  • Oversee ATL/BTL campaigns, packaging, influencer marketing, and community building.
  • Ensure hyperlocal cultural relevance through regional visual and copy standards.

3. Growth & Performance Marketing

  • Own and optimize CAC, retention, reactivation, and referral campaigns across paid media.
  • Drive install-to-order journey optimization in partnership with product and CRM.
  • Leverage tools like Meta Ads, Google Ads, Appsflyer, MoEngage, and in-app targeting.

4. Budgeting & ROI

  • Own the annual marketing budget (multi-crore) and channel-wise allocation.
  • Deliver cost-efficient marketing while balancing brand building with performance.
  • Prepare board-ready reports and dashboards on marketing ROI, CAC, and city-level efficiency.

5. Partnerships & Collaborations

  • Forge co-branded partnerships with FMCG brands, influencers, and regional IPs.
  • Collaborate with city ops and sales to power local activations and retail visibility.

 

Requirements

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5-8 years in marketing leadership roles, ideally in food tech, Q-commerce, e-commerce, or FMCG.
  • Proven experience in scaling brands across multiple Indian markets (regional growth is a must).
  • Strong grasp of digital marketing tools, consumer insights, campaign planning, and analytics.
  • Excellent communication and team-building skills; capable of managing in-house + agency teams.
  • MBA/PGDM in Marketing or equivalent preferred.
